Our first fall delivery

Today we picked up our first share from Farmer Dave’s for the fall season.  Our biggest challenge will be figuring out what to do with all of these vegetables, some of which we were not sure what they were or how to prepare them.  They all looked great, and we are excited to start cooking.  If you have a  recipe to share for any of the veggies, post it as a comment to this thread.  Here is a list of all that we got in our share this week.

  • a bunch of Parsley
  • No tricks, all treats for our Halloween sharea bunch of Chive
  • an eggplant
  • 2 green bell peppers
  • snap peas
  • 2 sweet potatoes
  • brocolli
  • lettuce
  • spinach
  • beets
  • turnips
  • radishes
  • carrots
  • leek
  • squash
  • a basket of grape tomatoes
  • several small onions
  • a selection of chili peppers

For the leek and small onions, in honor of your blog, Pan-Fried Chickpea Salad:

I would use the turnips, sweet potatoes, and chives for a variation on this: http://simplyrecipes.com/recipes/turnip_and_potato_patties/

With the eggplant and some of the other veggies, you have an opportunity for a good ratatouille (my favorite :)) .

Can’t wait to see what you come up with!
