I have already talked about my Bobby Flay fandom. This particular recipe is one I have been meaning to post for a while. I saw an episode of Bobby Flay’s BBQ Addiction where he prepared a red wine BBQ sauce for salmon. I thought that this would be a good sauce to use on portobello burgers. Of course I did not have the exact set of ingredients the night I decided to make this. Below is my take on a red wine BBQ sauce, hope you enjoy it as much as we did.
In a pot, sauté the onion and the garlic for 4-5 minutes. Add the red wine, bring to a boil and reduce by about 1/2 (to 1/2 a cup). Add the remaining ingredients and bring to a simmer. Cook for about 30 minutes, until the sauce has thickened.
Grill the portobello burgers and place on a bun. Top with the red wine BBQ sauce.
