A blog by ordinary people about living an extraordinary life

Finally, another workout Wednesday post

Working at home today I took a break at lunch to get a quick workout in.  To mimic the situation of traveling for work, when I don’t have my full complement of equipment, I did the One-on-One Road Warrior workout.  With about 40 minutes, and one resistance band, I was able to get a great workout in.  This is a full body toning workout.  Since you may not have the weight to do 8-10 reps and feel the burn, aim for 16-20 and really make sure the final few are tough. There are 4 rounds, and each include chest, shoulders, biceps, triceps and quad exercises.

Round One

  • Pushups (pick your favorite version)
  • Lawnmowers
  • Standing shoulder press
  • Curls
  • Tricep overhead extensions
  • Squats
  • Tip-toe lunges without a band

Round Two

  • Pushup with a side arm balance
  • Bent over rows
  • Corkscrew press
  • Open arm curls
  • 2-arm overhead extensions
  • Switch leg squats without a band
  • Alternative side lunges

Round Three

  • Hands-in/Hands-out pushups
  • Wrist up lawnmowers
  • 6-position shoulder flys
  • 21’s
  • Side Tri Rises
  • Wide-mid-close squats
  • Skip lunge (like a mini Mary Catherine)

Round Four: Speed Round (no break between exercises, 20 reps per exercise)

  • Pushups (pick your favorite version)
  • Lawnmowers
  • Standing shoulder press
  • Curls
  • Tricep overhead extensions
  • Squats
  • Tip-toe lunges without a band
